In Caruan Elementary School, Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, grade three students learn their lessons the unique way and leave their classroom with good vibes - thanks to their singing and dancing teacher.
Rolando Esteban, the singing teacher, integrated music into his teaching methods to turn any subject into a musical lesson.
Whether it's mathematics, science, or language, Esteban crafts songs that encapsulate the lesson's key concepts.
The children join in the singing of the lesson.
The concept is not just about making learning fun but also about encouraging active participation, according to Esteban.
"Ang mga kanta ay hango mismo sa mga lesson, kaya kapag inaawit ko, inaawit din ng mga bata. Nagkakaroon sila ng mastery sa mga concepts dahil kapag kabisado nila ang lyrics ng kanta, nakakabisado nila ang concept ng isang lesson," he said.
The school principal, Grace Divina, supports the innovative teaching approach.
"Only in Caruan na makikita mo na may teacher na sumasayaw at kumakanta sa kanyang mga ginagawa, kaya I am proud na very active siya sa kanyang pagtuturo at yun ay isang paraan para maengganyo niya ang mga bata na pumasok araw-araw," she said.
Esteban finds the endeavor to be rewarding as he witnesses the joy of learning on the faces of his students.
