What started as a rooftop gardening hobby blossomed into a thriving business for a certified "plantito."

Jefferson Pascual, is a full-time work-from-home graphic artist, and owns a greenhouse in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.

Pascual proudly tends to lush Batavia variety lettuce plants.

His journey began with a starting capital of P5,000 and using hydroponics gardening techniques.

His initial venture, located on the rooftop of his home, eventually evolved into a profitable lettuce farm.

As a full-time employee working from home, he sought ways to utilize his time efficiently and generate additional funds.

"Nag-plan ako ng one year or almost two years before i-put up to as a business para mag stay na rin ako dito sa ilocos," Pascual said.

The public can visit his lettuce farm for a P100 entrance fee .

Pascual's secret - patience.

He encouraged aspiring entrepreneurs:

"Kung may gusto kang gawin, tiyaga lang talaga, kasi kung susuko ka agad, wala. Kasi ako from pandemic talaga trial-and-error, hindi ko nakuha ng mabilisan," he said.

Pascual is also teaching hydroponics gardening to inspire more individuals to engage in planting and entrepreneurship.
