The night sky in New Clark City, Tarlac, became a canvas of mesmerizing shapes, from dogs to tigers, dinosaurs, and castles, as participants from around the world showcased their glow-in-the-dark hot air balloons during the 24th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta.
The event was held from February 16 to February 18, 2024.
Each balloon, reaching sizes of up to 30 meters, soared up to 12,000 feet.
The event drew balloon enthusiasts and participants from different parts of the world.
“This is really an international meeting for the balloonist," Terry Hockenjull, the Air Boss, said.
Aside from the hot air balloons, a drone show drew 3D images in the sky and an aerobatic pyrotechnic performance entertained attendees.
"Sobrang amazing ng experience and sobrang saya sa hot air balloons," Allan Marquez, a tourist, said.
"Sobrang ganda wala kaming masabi, you know that… yes, yes, yes, for the go!" Lean De Guzman, another tourist, added.
Throughout the three-day event, various aerial exhibitions such as skydiving, parachute gliding, jet exhibitions, drone racing, and ultralight airplane flying took center stage.
The organizers said that with the success of this year's air show, even grander displays can be expected in the coming years.
