The ever-famous Eastwood City Walk of Fame welcomed 20 more honorees during its 18th induction ceremony on March 7, 2024, seven of whom are Kapuso personalities headed by GMA Chairman and himself an inductee, Atty. Felipe L. Gozon.
The Eastwood Walk of Fame Ceremony was held at the Eastwood City Central Plaza, where icons from various fields in media and entertainment are given well-deserved personalized stars.
Gozon was recognized for his remarkable contributions as a trailblazer in revolutionizing Philippine television, an honor he is truly proud of.
“I am very very proud and privileged to have this Walk of Fame,” he said.
Atty. Felipe Gozon, who remains to be the Chairman of the Board and Adviser to the corporation after retiring as the Network’s CEO in December 2023, led the emergence and transformation of GMA to become the country’s leading broadcast network.
Miss Universe 2024 Top 10 finalist Michelle Marquez Dee, “Abot Kamay na Pangarap” lead Richard Yap, Sang’gre star Sanya Lopez, and entertainment icon and Sparkle consultant Johnny “Mr. M” Manahan also received their respective Walk of Fame Stars. They join Gozon in the television category.
Seasoned showbiz reporter Lhar Santiago was also awarded a Star for his contributions in the field of news and public affairs.
Meanwhile, DZBB Super Radyo news anchor Joel Reyes Zobel was recognized as the lone awardee under the radio category.
Gracing the event were GMA President and CEO Gilberto R. Duavit Jr., Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide, and Support Group and President and CEO of GMA Films, Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes, and Sparkle Vice President Joy Marcelo.
The awardees were also joined by Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes (Walk of Fame, 2008), and Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards (Walk of Fame, 2015).
The Eastwood City Walk of Fame, founded in 2005 by the late German Moreno and the Walk of Fame Foundation, is akin to the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame. It recognizes celebrities, media personalities, and icons who have contributed vastly to their respective fields, and aims to immortalize the awardees through their personalized ‘stars.’
