A mysterious image of a man was captured on camera seemingly crossing the street but disappeared all of a sudden on the national highway in Gusa, Cagayan de Oro.

The rider, Karl Dagus, had his camera on while he riding his motorcycle with his partner around 3 a.m.

The camera captured what Dagus also saw in person - a figure that looked like a man crossing the street but disappeared just as Dagus’ motorcycle was about to hit him.

Dagus said they were almost certain they had hit the man but realized later that they had hit no one, and no accident occured.

“Sa among mind sa akong partner, nag-anticipate nami nga naay impact nga mabangga mi. Kaluoy sa Ginoo sir walay impact nagbangga pero nawala ra murag hangin ba pero sure ko nga bangga gyud mi considering my speed ug ang kaduol,” Dagus said.

They reviewed the footage later but could not seem to get a clear picture of the face of the mysterious figure.

“Basta ang feeling sir weird gyud sa feeling gyud dili siya tao nga encounter. Taw pa to kapila na baya mi sigeg motor sir pag gabie, daghan nagatabok sa mas ngitngit pa gani nga lugar but we can see their faces kay ga high beam baya ko pero kato nga encounter we don’t see any face gyud,” Dagus said.

He also said they experienced something eerie at home with his niece crying as if seeing something scary.

“Naay mga kuan ba pero dili pa nako ma-confirm gyud kay bata man gud akong pag-umangkon 2 yrs old gahilaka siya ba kay murag naa syay gakakita nga scary so dili na usual diri sa balay,” Dagus added.

APPARITION?

Rev. Father Jun Balsamo, head exorcist of the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro, said it is not impossible that what was caught on camera was a spirit.

He believes, though, that spirits who show themselves to people are fallen angels.

“Actually, mga igsuon, kanang gapakita mga ingon ana sa mata sa simbahan dili na sila mga kalag sa tawo nga nangamatay… kasagara gapakita gyud mga fallen angels… when we say fallen angels, demons, mga demonyo na sila nga nagapakita kanato just to sow fear and mga disgrasya na hinuon dayun,” Balsamo said.

Balsamo added that evil spirits usually appear in places where they committed sins, and a prayer must be offered in these areas.

People should turn to prayer if they face a spooky experience, Balsamo said.

“Number one, naay something nato nga gakakita ta labi na kato siya so instead nga mag-focus ka sa imong nakita, do not focus in there kay madisgrasya ka, ma-rattle ka. Rather, focus in your prayer. Any apparition, whatever that is, pause, make sign of the cross… inhale, exhale talk to God, kana ra… disappear na mawala na,” he said.
