President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. led the ceremonial turnover of government housing programs in Balanga, Bataan, coinciding with the 82nd Day of Valor commemoration, honoring the courage and sacrifice of Filipino soldiers during World War II.

During the event, President Marcos personally inspected the newly constructed housing units. 

Aside from the turnover ceremony, various programs and exhibits were held in Bataan to recognize the veterans of World War II. 

A war memorabilia exhibit and AFP static display featuring Philippine Army tanks were showcased at the capitol.

Out of the 200,000 war veterans in the Philippines, only over 900 are still alive as of April 2024.

A trade fair was also launched at the capitol grounds, featuring Bataan's local products.

In Pangasinan, a wreath-laying ceremony was conducted in Lingayen's capitol, attended by provincial officials to honor the contributions of veterans and Pangasinenses to the country's freedom.

In Ilocos Norte, the Philippine Marines led the flower-laying ceremony at the Captain Valentin Juan Memorial in the town of Burgos. 

Vice Governor Cecilia Araneta Marcos was present at the event.

The Bataan Death March, which occurred on April 9, 1942, saw thousands of soldiers sacrifice their lives for the country's freedom against the Imperial Japanese Army.
