For someone with an extremely busy schedule, it’s hard to imagine how Xian Lim is able to squeeze so many activities into just 24 hours, much less find the time to pick up something new and try to master it. It’s made possible, the actor believes, by his natural curiosity and the genuine enjoyment from the thrill that comes with novelty.

“Kasi sayang, sayang yung oras,” Xian Lim said in an interview with GMA Regional TV News. “And I love learning new things.”

Xian’s social media accounts, particularly Instagram, are filled with proof of his persona’s many facets.

He is regularly seen participating in percussion music lessons, particularly focusing on hand-played percussion instruments such as the African goblet drum, djembe, and the handpan.

“We have plenty of time, I want to be able to utilize my time wisely. Kung wala akong ginagawa ngayon, yun yung nagiging creative process ko,” the actor shared.

He’s also into a lot of sports, from outdoor adventures like riding his big bike to indoor team sports like basketball - not to mention his undeniable obsession with hitting the gym and lifting weights.

A classical music native, Xian spends a ton of time playing the piano and entertaining his followers with soothing renditions.

“Kung wala akong ginagawa ngayon, might as well learn a new song. I always try to get out of my comfort zone, kasi diba nga nothing ever grows in the comfort zone,” the 34-year-old actor added.

The “Love. Die. Repeat.” leading man is also a passionate fan of puppetry, and has been learning the art of ventriloquism for quite some time already.

"Right now I’m getting into (playing the) handpan, and getting into ventriloquism - I am very much into puppetry. Learning never stops,” said Xian.

“If you want to grow as a person, have a wide variety of understanding sa buhay. So kung may nanoood nito, that's my advocacy, keep on learning. Do things you have never done,” he concluded during his interview with GMA RTV News.

Xian will be starring with Sparkle actresses Sanya Lopez and Faye Lorenzo, together with Colleen Garcia, in “Playtime,” an upcoming sexy-thriller by GMA Pictures and VIVA Films.
