At a school in Daet, Camarines Norte, one student stood out in the class of 2023-2024, not for academic excellence but for perfect attendance.

Meet "Agap," an aspin or a native Philippine dog, who became the unlikely recipient of a medal for Best Attendance with Highest Honor at the recognition ceremony of Daet Elementary School.

Agap gained attention on social media for joining the recognition ceremony eagerly.

"Katuwaan lang kumbaga, parang good vibes lang, pinost lang for friends consumption pero hindi naming akalain na magva-viral siya," Edlyn Dela Peña, the uploader, said.

Agap’s owner, Lilet Añora, a teacher in the school, said she adopted Agap who was once malnourished and infested with ticks.

Through care and love, Agap became healthy and started going to Dela Peña's classroom, much to the delight of students and teachers alike.

Despite initial concerns about Agap's behavior, his gentle demeanor and friendly disposition won over everyone's hearts, leading to his full acceptance on campus.

"Wala akong hesitation na may matatakot kasi kasi hindi siya sakin nagpakita ng kahit konti man lang na aggression...  kaya araw-araw yun na kaya wala akong hesitations na hindi siya tanggapin," Añora said.

Now that vacation time has arrived, Agap will enjoy some well-deserved rest and relaxation with Añora who will welcome him back home alongside her other fur babies.
