Nine beautiful pregnant women showcased their baby bumps at the "Gandang Buntis ng Batac 2024" pageant, celebrating the city’s "Buntis Day."

The event was aimed to raise awareness about the needs of pregnant women and promote a supportive and inclusive community for mothers-to-be.

The top three winners received cash prizes of P10,000, P7,000, and P5,000, as well as a free ultrasound. While all the other contestants received P1,000.

The winners of the pageant were:

Grand Winner: Ynnac Lheor V. Tumamao, from Barangay Quiling Sur
1st Runner-Up: Princess Kate A. Gongora, from Barangay Nalupta
2nd Runner-Up: Devorha B. Fonollera, from Barangay Bil-loca

Tumamao said it was fulfilling to share experiences with her baby even while still in her womb.

"Sabi ko sa sarili ko [na] ito ay magiging great experience as a first time mom, so napaka-fulfilling bilang isang ina na kapag lumabas yung baby ko, may mga ishashare akong experience together while nasa tiyan ko pa [siya]," she said. 

"May kanya kanya tayong timeline na papalarin tayo ng anak, so ingatan natin ang blessing ng Panginoon," she added.

Each participant was also given a maternal kit containing underpads, tissue, wet wipes, and feminine wash.

Besides the pageant, the event also featured a lecture on safe and proper prenatal care.
