The Mansion, the summer residence of the First Family in the City of Pines, has opened to the public as a presidential museum.
Visitors can explore the museum's seven galleries, which feature various contributions from past Philippine leaders.
Each gallery is equipped with guides who can explain the art displays and the history of previous administrations. Portraits of former First Ladies are also on display.
"People could come inside and take pictures inside. So that the people can learn about their history, about the presidents. This is very important in unification," Bianca Zobel, Social Secretary, said.
"[We have a] 20-person capacity limit [in each room.] [This helps] protect the artifacts [and ensures that visitors] truly learn from the experience," Curator Al Valencia added.
The Department of Tourism views the opening as a significant boost to both tourism and the country’s cultural heritage.
"Mabibigyan ang ating mga turista ng insight into the history and legacies of our presidents," Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco said.
The department is also working on improving infrastructure to make the mansion more accessible to visitors.
"We will make sure na masasalin sa tourism circuit yung heritage mansion na ito," Frasco added.
