Barangay Granada, one of seven contingents in the 45th Masskara Festival 2024, sealed its winning streak three years in a row.
Aside from the Grand Slam plum, Barangay Granada is also adjudged Best in Music, Best in Theme and Concept, and Best in Costume.
The contingent prayed and worked hard to mark the "three-peat," according to their choreographer, Mark Philip Lamirez.
“Despite ng lahat na hirap sa blocking, bumabagyo, ang mga residente makikita mo ang kanilang pag-pray para sa kompetisyon na makuha ang tinatawag na Grand Slam,” Lamirez, said.
Barangay Granada has aspired for a back-to-back-to-back win since it was hailed grand winner in 2022 and in 2023.
“Actually, matindi ang nararamdaman ko. Parang iiyak ako na hindi ko ma-explain. Pinangarap, ipinagdasal namin na target namin,” Barangay Chairman Armando Vito said.
Barangay Bata is adjudged first runner-up, while Barangay 12 as second runner-up.
