A day before Valentine’s Day, couples have already started celebrating in Mangaldan, Pangasinan, choosing the Mangaldan Plaza as their perfect date spot for its refreshing air and peaceful surroundings.

Among them were college students Emmanuel Malasan and Nelda Yden who made the most of their free time together.

Despite being in a relationship for just three months, they hope their love will grow stronger.

“Thank you sa effort, supportive ka sa akin. Kahit hindi nagkakatugma minsan ang oras natin. Mag-aral kang mabuti,” Malasan said to Yden.

Yden, in return, reminded Emmanuel to prioritize himself and his future.

“Alagaan mo ang sarili mo, bago ako or sa relationship natin. Unahin mo muna family mo, friends, and then yung pangarap mo,” she said to Malasan.

Visitors feel safe and secure at the plaza as local authorities monitor the area.

“Umiiikot sa loob ng plaza kasama ang PNP. Mino-monitor ang peace and order situation,” Rodolfo Corla, Mangaldan DRRM Officer, said.

Aside from the plaza, couples and nature lovers also visit the Angalacan River Park, especially the Embarcadero Bridge area, to enjoy the relaxing view.

Authorities remind visitors to stay alert and cautious to avoid any incidents.
