‘King of Talk’ Boy Abunda remains a certified Kapuso after signing a fresh contract with GMA Network on Tuesday, February 18. He will continue to headline his titular talk show, “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” a daily afternoon program that’s now in its third year.

A very grateful Abunda, Tito Boy as he is fondly referred to by his colleagues in the industry, thanked the network, as well as his Fast Talk with Boy Abunda family, from its producers and directors to its “strong team of researchers.”

“We keep on learning and as I begin the third year of Fast Talk, I continue to be a student and I continue to be grateful,” he added.

The contract signing was also graced by GMA Network President and CEO Gilberto R. Duavit Jr., and Senior Vice President for Entertainment Group Lilybeth G. Rasonable.

“What really resonated with me is as time went by and as times changed, so did you but in a unique manner: you stayed the course and redefined not yourself but what is still the best in the world we live in. You are a beacon of hope,” said Duavit of Abunda. The two have a longstanding personal friendship outside their professional lives in the entertainment industry.

While not physically present, GMA Network Chairman Felipe L. Gozon delivered a heartwarming congratulatory message for the veteran host.

“You embody what GMA Network stands for: credibility, integrity, and excellence. In today's ever-evolving media landscape, you remain as the most trusted and most respected showbiz authority because you continue to set the bar high,” said Gozon in a video message.

“You stayed true to your values, nag-iisa ka Boy. Congratulations on your new contract, happy second anniversary sa ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.’ Thank you for strengthening our daily afternoon block, thank you for uplifting the image of our artists, and thank you for making them interesting and relevant through your interviews. Thank you for choosing GMA Network as your home,” he concluded.

Fondly calling GMA his "home," Abunda is now in his third year as a full-fledged Kapuso artist since a homecoming partnership that began in 2022.

Tito Boy, whose real name is Eugenio Romerica Abunda Jr., started his career with GMA in 1994 when he worked as a public relations consultant.

He was then scouted to host a talk show program, eventually starring in “Show and Tell” (1994-1995) and “Startalk” (1995-1999).

After a 23-year stint in another network, he made his Kapuso homecoming in 2022, signing an exclusive contract with GMA in December of that year.
