In the most recent Electronics Engineers Licensure Examination results, a sea of UP Diliman graduates ruled its top ten— save for the No. 4 and the No. 5 spots, held by two Mindanaoans: Charlothe John Tablizo of the Mapua Malayan Colleges Mindanao and Laurenz Clyde Garcia of the Mindanao State University-General Santos.
The results were officially released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on April 10 through its social media pages.
TOP PERFORMERS FROM THE REGIONS
Charlothe John Tablizo, who hails from the Davao City-based Mapúa Malayan Colleges, scored 91.70 to finish at fourth place, only behind topnotchers Nathaniel Dimaunahan, Zylm Sabater, and Wynne Angelo Arcilla, all UP Diliman graduates.
He also ranked second in the Electronics Technician Licensure Exam with an average rating of 94%.
Laurenz Clyde Garcia, meanwhile, placed fifth overall. The MSU-General Santos City product had a 91.40% rating, a shade above sixth placer Bijan Domenden, also from UP Diliman.
Rounding out the top ten are other UPD graduates, namely Ryan Blanco, Bryan Guillang, Gabriel Monasterial, and Ned Tilos.
TOP PERFORMING SCHOOLS FROM THE REGIONS
UP Diliman is the best-performing school among those with 30 or more takers, as 47 of its 50 aspirants passed the exam good for a 94% passing rate, while the Negros Occidental-based Technological University of the Philippines Visayas placed second with an 88.16% passing rate (67 passers from 76 takers).
Four schools from the regions, meanwhile, dominated the list of topnotchers among schools with less than 30 takers, with the University of Southeastern Philippines in Davao City topping the list with a 92% passing rate (23/25 passers).
Cagayan de Oro’s Xavier University (10/12 passers; 83.33% passing rate), Lanao del Norte’s Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (19/23 passers; 82.61%), and Laguna’s Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Sta. Rosa Campus (17/21 passers; 80.95%) placed third, fourth, and fifth, respectively.
