Josephine and Pablo Solomon, a couple married for 50 years and blessed with seven children, will mark the day in their own heartfelt way.

“Siya ang tatay ng mga anak ko. Espesyal siya sa amin. Mahal niya kami at mahal na mahal din namin siya,” Josephine said.

She plans to celebrate even in a simple way.

In Dagupan City, baratilyo stalls are packed with low-cost yet thoughtful gifts like belts, wallets, and bags priced between P150 and P250.

Polo shirts and sando go for P100 to P180, while stylish hats for Dad cost around P150.

For those with a bigger budget, watches or shoes are top choices. But some still prefer the timeless beauty of flowers.

“Medyo nagtaas ang presyo ng bulaklak, pero talagang may nagbibigay ng bulaklak sa mga tatay. Ngayon, nasa P500 to P700 ang bouquet ng bulaklak,” Josie Ocoma, a flower vendor, said.

Still, many agree that the best gift is love and appreciation.
