With her outfit alone, it’s clear that eight-year-old Louraíne Frances Datuin is a true rockstar.

A Grade 3 student from Malued Elementary School in Dagupan City, Louraine started showing her love for music when she was just two years old.

“Sinubukan namin na iabot ‘yung mic kasi madali niyang ma-adopt ‘yung music. Kumanta, maging ikay sa pandinig namin,” Janry Datuin, her father who also loves music, said.

Since then, he has been helping train Louraine at home. Her musical talent grew even more in Grades 1 and 2, thanks to teachers who were also music lovers.

“Talented siya talaga. The first time na makita ko siya sa klase namin, nakitaan ko ng potential sa singing. May ilalaban ‘tong batang ito,”Jessibeth Aquino, her coach, said.

With support from her father and teachers, Louraine became more confident and joined singing contests.

She was crowned champion recently at a competition held by the Dagupan Schools Division Office.

She is also often invited to perform in school events and programs.

But it’s not just music that she excels in. Louraíne is also a diligent student and even solves math problems on the board.

“Maging nurse po. Para magamot ko mga taong may sakit po. Pwede rin po,” she said when asked about her dream job.

Aside from singing, Louraine also joins pageants and is known to be cheerful and easy to guide.

“Musika ang buhay na aking tinataglay. Ito rin ang dahilan kung ba’t ako naglalakbay,” she said.
