GMA Network, through its film production and distribution company GMA Pictures, brings a solid contingent at the 73rd Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) Awards as its three highly acclaimed movies garnered multiple nods from the prestigious award-giving body.

Zig Dulay’s “Green Bones,” an award-winning entry to the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival last December 2024, garnered a whopping 10 nominations: Best Picture, Best Director (Zig Dulay), Best Actor (Dennis Trillo), and Best Supporting Actor (Ruru Madrid) and Best Supporting Actress (Alessandra De Rossi), Best Editing, Best Screenplay, Best Visual Effects, Best Sound, and Best Musical Score. 

Kip Oebanda’s “Balota,” a political thriller that was an official entry at the 20th Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival last August 2024, earned four nominations: Best Picture, Best Actress (Marian Rivera), Best Supporting Actor (Will Ashley), and Best Screenplay.

Cathy Garcia-Sampana’s “Hello, Love, Again,” meanwhile– a groundbreaking co-production between the Kapuso network’s GMA Pictures and ABS-CBN’s Star Cinema, and the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time, received five nods: Best Actor (Alden Richards), Best Actress (Kathryn Bernardo), Best Editing, Best Production Design, and Best Musical Score. 

The 73rd FAMAS Awards will hold its awarding ceremony on August 22 at the Manila Hotel.
