The month-long celebration of Cebu Province's 456th Founding Anniversary culminated not with grand fireworks or extravagant displays, but with "something far deeper: a showcase of faith, tradition, and cultural pride through the "Pasundayag sa Pagtuo.""

According to the Cebu Provincial Information Office, the "Pasundayag sa Pagtuo" was more than just a cultural presentation.

"It served as a living testament to the heart and soul of Cebu, with the people’s unwavering devotion and identity shaped by centuries of history, faith, and shared heritage," Cebu PIO said in a post.

The first-ever Pasundayag sa Pagtuo was held on August 31, 2025.

The event started with a procession from the Capitol Grounds to the Plaza Independencia, showcasing the images of patron saints from various towns and cities across the Province of Cebu.

A Holy Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Jonathan Rubin, which was followed by a program that concluded officially the month-long celebration of Cebu Province's founding anniversary.

Governor Pamela Baricuatro, Vice Governor Glenn Soco, Provincial Board Members Paz Rozgoni, Red Duterte, Lakambini Reluya, Nilo Seno, Raymond Calderon, and Francis Alfie Ouano, with Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival, several local chief executives from the province, and other guests, graced the "Pasundayag sa Pagtuo."

“Pasundayag is more than a celebration. It is a living testament of our identity, showing us who we are today and what we hope to pass on to the next generations,” Baricuatro said in her speech at the Plaza Independencia in Cebu City.

“Personally, my faith has always guided me in everything I do, especially as your governor. And one of the things I love most about Cebu is how rich we are in faith. I believe this is what keeps us strong and united as Cebuanos,” the governor added.
