Two rescued sea turtles were released back to the sea in Barangay Masisit, Sanchez Mira, Cagayan.
The Olive Ridley turtle and Green Sea turtle were rescued on September 14 and 15, 2025, then tagged by personnel of the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) and the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) before their release.
Officials said the event shows the rich biodiversity in the town, which they credit to continued marine protection efforts.
They also continue to conduct information drives in coastal areas to teach residents how to help rescue marine wildlife.
CENRO Sanchez Mira is also preparing to build a turtle sanctuary along the shoreline of Barangay Masisit.
