Motorists and pedestrians in Dagupan City are finding joy on the road, thanks to a traffic enforcer who mixes dance moves with directing vehicles at a busy intersection in Barangay Lucao.

Known as Edgar Rosario, the “dancing POSO enforcer” has been entertaining commuters with his lively gestures since the start of the year.

He said his goal is simple: to make traffic lighter not just on the road, but also on people’s mood.

“Samahan lang daw ng sayaw para lahat ng motorista, sasaya. Kahit na may traffic, tuloy pa rin ang trabaho,” Rosario said.

Dr. Jose Gabriel Lozo, a biker, said Rosario’s energy eases stress for those rushing through traffic.

“Nakaka-good vibes lalong-lalo na sa mga dumadaan dito. Pag nagmamadali yung mga tao syempre umiinit yung ulo pero pag nakikita yung POSO, syempre nakaka-good vibes,” he said.

Marilou Roces, a pedestrian, shared the same sentiment. “Everyday kong nakikita ’yan yung officer at nakakatuwa dahil nagpapasaya siya sa kalsada dito sa Lucao,” she said.

Rosario works from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily and says he never gets tired of adding flair to his duty.

The Dagupan Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) said his style is helping commuters keep their cool.

“Maganda po na may ganun tayong enforcer na kahit may traffic eh hindi sila maiinip habang pinapanood po siya na nagmamando ng traffic,” POSO deputy chief Rexon de Vera said.
