A bride in Dagupan City turned heads on her wedding day after she arrived at church not in a car, but in a public jeepney.
Despite the sunny skies on Friday, October 10, floodwaters from the high tide made it impossible for the bridal car to reach her home. The driver backed away, fearing the vehicle might get stuck in the flood.
Her event coordinator quickly flagged down a passenger jeep to make sure the bride still made it to her ceremony.
“At the moment, nasa jeep ako. Instead na bridal car… bridal jeep!” Glaiza Mae Ventanilla-Solomon said while laughing off the unexpected turn of events.
“Lumaki naman po akong commuter, so wala namang problema kung jeep,” Glaiza said.
The groom, Jan Lester Solomon, smiled as he saw his bride arrive in the most practical way possible.
That day, love clearly overflowed, not just the flood outside but inside the church too.
Jan Lester, who received best wishes, shared his wishes too for the community.
“Sana way before meron nang long-term goals ang local government para maibsan ang pagbaha. Parang nasanay na lang ang mga tao na everytime na umuulan babaha kaagad tapos matagal bago humupa,” he said.
