Laughter and excitement filled the air as children from Nalsian Day Care Center in Calasiao, Pangasinan, joined a Halloween trick-or-treat activity at the municipal hall.

Wearing colorful costumes of their favorite characters like Maleficent, Pennywise, and Harry Potter, and even a child riding a dinosaur, the kids lined up happily to receive candies from local officials.

Maricris Manalo Pasaoa, a day care teacher, said the event was something the children looked forward to all year.

“Eto kasi iyong experience na hindi na nila ma-experience for another year na gagawin nila. And kasi dito lang naman sa day care mafi-feel ng mga bata iyong excitement to celebrate the trick or treat,” Pasaoa said.

Parents also went all-out in supporting their children, helping them prepare their costumes and joining the fun. A candy shower added to the excitement as kids raced to grab sweets scattered on the ground.

For Maila Cervantes, a parent of one of the children, it was an important experience for her child.

“Ma-experience niya rin po, kasi once a year lang po ito,” she said.

The event was part of the local government’s efforts to bring joy to young children and give them a safe space to celebrate Halloween.
