A Filipino nurse has once again brought pride to the Philippines. Ruby Renconada Soriano, MSN, RN, who is based in Jacksonville in Florida, has been named the recipient of the 2025 Freddie Webster RN Award for Nursing Excellence, a respected recognition in the field of oncology nursing.
The award announcement, issued by the non-profit organization WeCareJax, highlighted her work as the oncology nurse navigator at The Jacoby Breast Center at Mayo Clinic.
With over a decade of experience in oncology nursing, patient navigation, and clinical program management, Ruby was described as "dedicated to guiding and advocating for patients throughout their cancer journey."
The announcement added that her leadership has been "vital in advancing patient-centered care, program development, and healthcare quality," praising her unwavering compassion and expertise.
Ruby previously provided hospital care at Ascension St. Vincent's in Jacksonville. She said the honor reflects not only her efforts but also the commitment of her former team in serving vulnerable communities.
