A Christmas garden in Barangay Dinalaoan, Calasiao is once again drawing crowds as families look for a unique and festive place to visit this holiday season.

The attraction started as a small family tradition of decorating their yard for Christmas. Over the years, the lights and displays grew, eventually catching the attention of passersby who admired the colorful setup each December.

Co-manager Jerome Joaquin said the idea began with his grandmother, who loved spreading joy through holiday decorations.

“Yung Christmas Garden na ito, it began many years ago. So, it was my grandmother's idea. She loves decorating and always spreading happiness,” he said.

The family officially opened the garden to the public in 2021, allowing visitors to enter for free. Since then, it has become a go-to holiday spot for residents and tourists.

This year, the garden is brighter than ever, featuring new designs and a Korean drama-inspired theme. Many of the visitors arrived early in the season, including families who traveled from neighboring towns.

Rona Dela Cruz, who visited from Binmaley, said the display exceeded their expectations.

“Mapapa-wow po sa ganda kasi hindi namin inexpect na ganito po yung madadatnan namin,” Dela Cruz said.

Joaquin added that the family worked for more than a month preparing the garden, especially after the effects of #UwanPH delayed their target opening.

“Dapat November 15 ang bukas namin pero nag-buffer kami ng at least one week para sa pagpi-fix ng lahat,” he said.

Despite the challenges, the family said the smiles and excitement of the visitors make their efforts worthwhile.
