Devotees of Jesus Nazareno in Binmaley, Pangasinan are preparing for a large turnout on Friday, January 9, 2026, as the town marks the Feast of the Jesus Nazareno with a Mass and procession.

The ‘Jesus the Nazarene Parish Church’ in Barangay Dulag will lead the celebration. Ahead of the feast day, the image of Jesus Nazareno has been brought to different barangays in Binmaley and is currently staying in Barangay Basing.

Barangay Basing Chairman Piadado Lopez said the image will be brought back to the main parish church early in the morning.

“Mga alas tres, o alas dos, kasi magsisimba. Dadalhin sa Dulag sa simbahan. Doon kasi ang main simbahan. Doon talaga sa Dulag,” he said.

Longtime devotees said they continue to take part in the annual celebration to offer prayers and intentions. Rica Reyes, who has been a devotee for many years, said she never misses the Mass and procession.

“Sana po maging peaceful na ang Pilipinas, wala nang away, walang kurapsyon,” she said.

Church officials expect a surge of devotees starting around 3 to 4 p.m. at the Jesus the Nazarene Parish Church, where the Mass and procession will take place.

Another devotee, Estrelita Cerezo, said the procession route has been adjusted this year.

“Nanggaling na po ng Amangkayo, Balugo, tapos dito sa Brgy. Basing. Ang prusisyon ay sa buong Dulag na po. Nangyari na po ang prusisyon dito eh kaya exclusive na din doon sa mismong parokya,” she said.

Authorities and church volunteers are coordinating to ensure order and safety as devotees gather to observe the feast of Jesus Nazareno in Binmaley.
