A major Ilocano festival is now stamped on a new ₱100 commemorative coin, as the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) continues to highlight Philippine culture through currency.
The BSP said the Tan-ok ni Ilocano Festival of Ilocos Norte is featured on the second coin under the Philippine Festivals Commemorative Coin Series.
The coin design shows symbols that reflect the colorful traditions of different towns and cities across Ilocos Norte. The images aim to represent the province’s rich culture and heritage.
Each coin will sell for ₱5,000. The BSP will start selling it on February 28, 2026, at a BSP pop-up store inside the Ferdinand E. Marcos Memorial Stadium in Laoag City.
The coin will also be available at the BSP Store beginning March 9, 2026.
The BSP worked with the Department of Tourism and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts to ensure accurate details and cultural integrity in the coin’s design.
