There is nowhere lovelier to celebrate Valentine’s Day than in the City of Love – Iloilo City.

Love is in the air. Wherever you turn to, even in city nooks and crannies, bouquets of flowers seem to flood.

As Valentine's Day is deemed primarily for sweethearts or couples, Maxine Salvador has already a date plan with his special someone.

“Kakain lang kami sa labas (with) manliligaw,” Maxine said.

For Althea Villarosa who is enjoying her single blessedness, she will be spending her Valentine’s Day with her mother.

She even bought flowers on February 13, 2026 as her early Valentine’s gift to her.

“Before pa tayo magka-relationship, nandyan ang ating parents na nagbigay sa atin ng life. Mas better na mag-celebrate tayo not just ang mga in a relationship lang, also sa ating parents na mag-give love tayo sa kanila,” Althea accentuated.

Fresh flowers continue to be the best-selling items. A single rose is worth P150, while a bouquet with three stems of roses is worth P300.

A big bouquet costs from P2,000 to P5,000.

Dried flower bouquets are also preferred by other customers, costing them from P200 to P5,000. A chocolate bouquet is worth P300. A bouquet of fuzzy wire flower sells at P250.

For those seeking best buys, a bouquet of flowers with a teddy bear is sold at P400.

Zhe Liey Pantua, a vendor, said that she was not fond of flowers. She used to consider flowers for gifts as a waste of money, but when she received one, she started appreciating their value as presents, especially on Valentine’s Day.

“Very happy ka pala kung makatanggap ka. Hindi naman sa laki ng bulaklak na matatanggap natin. Kahit maliit lang siya kung makakatanggap ka mula sa ating pinakamamahal,” Zhe Liey underscored.
