Miss Universe Philippines Baguio and Sparkle’s own Roxie Smith recently took to Instagram to reflect on her 30th Panagbenga Festival experience, calling it a “full-circle moment” after she graced the Grand Float Parade last March 1 aboard the City of Baguios’ official float while wearing her MUPH sash.
To the delight of Baguio locals and Panagbenga tourists eagerly waiting on the roadside, the 28-year-old Kapuso beauty queen beamed and waved with effortless poise during the floral procession, as she was greeted back with cheers and cameras.
Roxie, a Filipino-Belgian born and raised in Baguio City, was appointed to represent her hometown in the already ongoing Miss Universe PH 2026 pageant, announced during a sashing ceremony last February 2.
“Ikaw hanggang dulo, Baguio. From doing crowd control in my college days to opening the Float Parade… how did this even happen?” she wrote in a March 2 post on Instagram.
“If this isn’t a full-circle moment, I don’t know what is. Some days I still can’t believe how I got here. Forever in awe of this life!” she added.
Before launching her career in show business, Roxie attended school at Baguio City National High School. She finished her tertiary education at Saint Louis University with a degree in Tourism Management.
The Sparkle artist’s stint at the country’s grandest pageant is a competition comeback of sorts for the Sparkle talent. She was crowned Ms. Earth Philippines at the height of the pandemic in 2020.
She went on to represent the country in a virtual Miss Earth 2020 where she claimed the Miss Earth - Water title by placing in the Top 4.
Prior to winning Miss Earth, she also won Face of Tourism Philippines in 2019.
