Three universities based in the regions made it to the Top 10 of the recently updated list of best universities in the Philippines by independent global university-ranking platform EduRank.
The University of the Philippines (UP) Los Baños took the fifth spot (#5), while the Cebu-based University of San Carlos (USC), and Dumaguete’s Silliman University placed eighth (#8) and tenth (#10), respectively. They joined seven NCR-based schools in the Top 10.
UPLB is ranked 696th in Asia and 2,422nd in the world; USC is 1,264th in Asia and 3,870th in the world; while Silliman sits at the 1,594th spot in Asia and 4,625th globally.
The list is topped by UP Diliman, which ranked 312th in Asia and 1,299th in the world.

Sixteen out of the 30 (53%) best-ranked universities are based in Metro Manila, scattered within Manila, Quezon City, Pasig, Makati, and Las Piñas.
Fourteen (47%) are based in the regions, with five universities in Luzon (non-NCR), four in Visayas, and five in Mindanao.
