Residents of Vigan City have found a new way to showcase items they want to sell this Christmas season - displaying them in their car trunks at a newly opened bazaar. 

Situated between Plaza Burgos and Vigan Cathedral, the city’s first-ever Car Trunk Bazaar has drawn crowds every night. 

The project was initiated by the mayor’s wife, Mia Aguila-Singson.

"Idea ito ng butihin wife ng ating mayor, na sinuportahan naman ng City Government of Vigan through the City Cultural Affairs and Tourism Office… para matulungan ang ating mga MSMEs, at the same time we could also promote our local products," Jo-Anne Gutierrez, Vigan City Senior Tourism Operations Officer, says.

The bazaar also features local food products.

For many bazaar sellers like KC Concepcion, an online seller, the Car Trunk Bazaar marks a unique opportunity for easier transactions with customers.

"Mas kakaiba kasi mas madali yung transaction namin sa mga customer. Di ba agad magbabayad ang pwede ulit bumili ng items," Concepcion said.

The Car Trunk Bazaar is open from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. until December 11, 2023.
