Nine Kapuso artists and three albums get well-deserved nods from the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) after the award-giving body recently released its complete set of nominees for the 14th PMPC Star Awards for Music. 

Divas of the Queendom Julie Anne San Jose, Jessica Villarubin, and Hannah Precillas all received respective nominations, a month after a highly successful ‘Queendom: LIVE,’ the group’s first ever solo concert.

Asia’s Limitless Star Julie Anne received two nominations for her “Limitless” trilogy concert (Synergy and GMA Network): ‘Female Concert Performer of the Year,’ and ‘Concert of the Year.’

Boholana Diva Hannah Precillas, who bagged home two awards during the 13th Star Awards for Music in 2022 (People's Choice Award and New Female Recording Artist of the Year) received another nomination this year, this time in the Female Pop Artist of the Year category for her song “Kulang Ang Sandali.”

Cebu native Jessica Villarubin now takes Hannah’s place as her debut single “Ako Naman” gets her a nomination for ‘New Female Recording Artist of the Year,’ an award previously won by her co-Diva.

Former ‘New Male Recording Artist of the Year’ Jeremiah Tiangco is nominated for ‘Male R&B Artist of the Year’ for his song, “Sa Tuwing Umuulan.” 

Five other Sparkle artists received nominations: Garett Bolden (“Our Love” - Male Pop Artist of the Year), Kelvin Miranda (“Slow Dance” - New Male Recording Artist of the Year), Matt Lozano (“Walang Pipigil” - New Male Recording Artist of the Year), Papa Obet (“Ikaw Lang at Ako” - Revival Recording of the Year), and Arra San Agustin (“Walang Makakapigil” - Female Acoustic Artist of the Year).

GMA Music’s “Awit Kapuso Vol. 12,” “Awit Kapuso Vol. 13,” and “Heart of Asia (The Best of Asia Novela Theme Songs)” also get well-deserved nods under the ‘Compilation Album of the Year’ category.

PMPC has earlier announced that OPM icons Hajji Alejandro and Rey Valera will be recognized for their contribution to Pinoy music. Alejandro will be given the Pilita Corrales Lifetime Achievement Award while Valera will get the Parangal Levi Celerio Lifetime Achievement Award.
