Devotees returned to the streets in Naga City, Camarines Sur for the Traslacion and Replica Procession of the Black Nazarene on Monday, January 8, 2024.
The procession also attracted thousands like in 2023.
The image in the city was unveiled on this day ahead of the actual feast of the Black Nazarene on January 9.
From the Holy Cross Parish in Barangay Tabuco, the procession made its way to Plaza Quezon, where it will remain until January 9, 2024.
At the plaza, devotees were allowed to kiss the image of the Black Nazarene, a practice that was suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic to uphold health protocols.
Fr. Eugene Lubigan, Parish Priest of Holy Cross Parish, said.
Prior to the event, security measures were tightened around the church, and several streets were closed to facilitate the procession.
Erwin Rebellion, City Director of the Naga City Police Office, said.
