The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) rescued six passengers from a distressed motor banca in the waters off Kalangugan, Rizal in Socorro, Surigao del Norte.
The motor banca was bound for Catabaan, Dapa from Feeder Port in Barangay Navarro when the incident happened.
Authorities said the motor banca’s rudder broke when it encountered big waves while in transit.
The passengers were rescued safely and the motor banca was towed successfully.
