A 63-year-old dentist and barangay councilman was found dead covered in stab wounds inside his house in Barangay San Vicente Central, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro on January 15, 2024.

The victim was identified as Doctor Ting Bolor. He reportedly often slept at his clinic but had chosen to go home at that time. 

Initially, investigations pointed to robbery as motive, given that Bolor’s belongings inside his room were already scattered. 

"Madaling araw 'yun nangyari siguro, as to the fresh na dugo, pero para po mas sigurado [tayo] edi siyempre po 'yung ating SOCO po ang magde-determine," PCapt. Michelle Selda, Chief of Oriental Mindoro PPO, said.

The CCTV footage was nowhere to be found and the suspects may have taken it. 

The Calapan City government condemned the killing and has offered a P200,000 reward to anyone who can provide information that can lead to the suspect’s arrest. 

"Ito ay isang matinding paglabag sa karapatang pantao. Anumang impormasyon na makakatulong upang madakip ang may sala o kriminal ay ipagbigay-alam sa aking tanggapan," Calapan Mayor Malou Morillo said.

The victim's body has been subjected to an autopsy.
