A vintage bomb weighing one ton was unearthed from a riprap construction site in Barangay Kamog, Sablan, Benguet.
Fortunately, the heavy equipment used in construction did not hit the bomb.
Members of the Explosive Ordnance Division (EOD) responded to the scene and transported the explosive to a detonation facility in Tarlac for proper disposal.
Construction in the area continues, but with heightened precautions for the safety of workers and residents.
Dick Kary Latogan, Chief of the Sablan Police Station, said.
