A traffic enforcer was shot in Zone 7, Bangued, Abra while in his nighttime job as a tricycle driver.
The victim, Geraldine Peralta, died later in the hospital. He was a traffic enforcer by day and worked as a tricycle driver at night after his duty hours.
Police said it is possible that the suspect may have been a passenger.
"Itong biktima natin, during daytime he is one of the traffic enforcers ng Bangued, pagkatapos ng duty may tricycle naman [siya at] namamasada po. Ang alam ng mga imbestigador natin [ay] malamang pasahero niya ang dumale sa kanya," PMAJ. Daniel Pel-ey, PCADU Chief of the Abra Police Provincial Office.
Peralta's wife, also a traffic enforcer, said that her husband did not have any known enemies or threats to his life.
"Wala naman siyang nababanggit na kaaway niya, wala naman siyang sinasabing banta ng kanyang buhay," she said.
Although Peralta was known for being strict in enforcing traffic rules, the motive remains unclear.
The family and colleagues of the victim are seeking justice.
Investigation into the case is ongoing as of this writing.
