An ex-convict is now back in jail for the sale of suspected shabu worth P6.8 million.
Harold Domen Yu alias Jono, 41 years old, a native of Barangay Nagasi, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental was collared by personnel of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit of Police Regional Office 7 on the night of January 22, 2023 in Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City where the suspect resided.
Found in Yu’s possession was suspected shabu that weighed 1,000 grams.
Police said that in 2011, the suspect was convicted at the Regional Trial Court Branch 30 in Dumaguete City for violation of Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
He spent five years at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City and was released from prison in 2016 on probation.
However, Yu went back to selling illegal drugs as he was entrusted by his own sibling who is also imprisoned at the Abuyog Penal Colony in Abuyog town, Province of Leyte.
In a series of surveillances, it was determined that Yu can dispose of one to two kilos of illegal drugs weekly.
He was also identified by other drug offenders, in a tactical investigation, as the source of their supply of illegal drugs.
