In an effort to contribute to wildlife conservation, 100 baby olive ridley turtles were released along the coastline of Olongapo City, Zambales.

The initiative was led by the Olongapo City government.

The release followed the recent hatching of turtle eggs. The months from October to February are considered the nesting season for turtles along the coast.

Residents living near the coastline were urged to refrain from disturbing turtle nests and immediately report any sightings of turtle eggs to authorities.

Turtles are classified as endangered species in the country.

The act of releasing baby turtles also serves as an educational initiative to teach the importance of marine life to the younger generations.
