An Emergency Operation Center was established in Casiguran, Sorsogon as the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) observed increased seismic activities at the Bulusan volcano.
Authorities are preparing for the potential impact of Bulusan's activities following a recent emergency meeting of the Disaster Preparedness Cluster, which involved various government agencies.
The meeting discussed evacuation procedures, readiness of emergency shelters, deployment of medical response teams, and mobilization of resources in affected areas.
The volcano is still under Alert Level 1, but PHIVOLCS warns that the changes in its activity could lead to an eruption.
Authorities urged the public to avoid the four-kilometer permanent danger zone.
"We have to be alert and monitor kaya ang ginawa natin is mas malapit doon sa site and that is already [which is] in Casiguran kasi hindi naman natin alam which one will be affected pero definitely were coordinating with PAGASA, para makita natin. just in case anytime, alam natin kung saan ang direksyon ng wind," Engineer Raden Dimaano, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer of Sorsogon, said.
