At least three people died while 26 others were injured in an accident involving a bus and several vehicles in the national highway in Barangay Bangal, Dinalupihan evening on January 24, 2024.

This is according to initial reports of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) in Dinalupihan as of 10 p.m.

The bus driver lost control of his vehicle and hit a motorcyle, two tricycles, an L300 van, and a passenger jeepney in the opposite lane, according to the report of James Agustin on "Unang Balita," morning of January 25, 2024.

The jeepney was going to Bataan from Olongapo City.

Emergency personnel were deployed and brought the passengers to a nearby hospital.

The accident also rendered the Olongapo and Bangal, Dinalipuhan boundary impassable.

The Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office in Olongapo City notified the public of the accident and the road closure on its Facebook page.

“Public notice: due to a vehicular accident, the Olongapo and Bangal, Dinalupihan boundary is impassable as of 7:30 p.m. today. As a result of the clearing operation, expect heavy traffic,” its post reads.

"The bus driver will face charges for reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide, multiple physical injuries, and damage to properties," Bataan PNP said in its Facebook page.
