Operations of vessels plying the Iloilo river, at the fast craft terminal and Parola wharf, will be suspended temporarily from noontime to 4 p.m. on January 26, 2024 for the fluvial parade, one of Dinagyang Festival 2024 highlights.
Philippine Coast Guard Iloilo Station Commander Paterno Belarmino, Jr. said that the fluvial procession will start at around 2 p.m.
Operations will resume as soon as the fluvial parade is done, Belarmino said.
The public is earlier advised that children below seven years old and adults over 55 years old are prohibited from joining the procession, as well as the differently abled and the pregnant for safety reasons. Backpacks are also banned from the fluvial parade.
Aside from over 100 PCG personnel, some 350 volunteers of auxiliary force multipliers and Marine Police, Philippine Navy, and mobile PNP for shoreline security will be part of the augmentation force.
