A house in Barangay Sabang, Bombon, Camarines Sur caught fire that lasted for two hours evening on January 30, 2024.

The fire escalated rapidly, fueled by the combustible materials inside a printing shop located inside the house.

The blaze reached the first alarm.

No one was injured and no other house was affected.

Authorities said neglected and overloaded extension wire in the printing shop may have caused the fire.

"Ang sabi katong may-ari, naghali po kaya siya duman sa residensiya niya, so may naksaksak daw po ning mga extension wire siguro po ito ang naging kawsa," SFO4 Meriam Bardon, OIC of Bombon Municipal Fire Station, said.

The 65-year-old homeowner, Rosaleo Pajabera, now plans to stay at his relative's house.

"Dae man ako naghuhuna na mangayayari ini'yo ta bago 'ko dyan magluwas pinapasiguro ko man na [salbado] lalo na igwang maarkila sakuya, iyo lang an inaasahan ko [nin kwarta]," Pajabera said.

As of this writing, damage to property is still being assessed and the investigation into the incident continues.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) reminds the public to inspect electrical installations regularly.
