A 24-year-old man was arrested in an entrapment operation for allegedly spreading nude photos of his ex-live-in partner online in Ozamis City, Misamis Occidental.

Police said the suspect may have hacked the victim’s Facebook account and gained access to the latter’s private photos.

After the two broke up, the suspect allegedly shared the victim’s intimate photos online.

Operatives launched the operation after the victim sought for police help.

Seized from the suspect was a cellphone containing the nude photos of the victim.

The suspect is now detained and will face charges for violation of the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act in relation to Cybercrime Prevention Act.

Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO)-10 Director, Brigadier General Ricardo Layug Jr., urged the public to report any cyber-related incidents to authorities.

“Any incidents occurring in the cyber space should be reported immediately. I encourage everyone to coordinate with the nearest police stations and not hesitate to report their situation, as this will not only benefit the individual but also others who may be experiencing similar situations,” Layug said.
