The car involved allegedly in a hit-and-run incident in Barangay Kamputhaw, Cebu City was turned in, not recovered or seized, according to its owner who granted "GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak" an interview on February 7, 2024.

The gray sports utility vehicle (SUV) was turned over reportedly to Police Station 9 in Barangay Guadalupe.

“Rudy,” not his real name, said that the car was not abandoned, but that an area at the vicinity of the police station was its parking space.

The car was seen allegedly in a CCTV footage on the hit-and-run incident on February 3, 2024 near the Redemptorist Church where a varsity player of Don Bosco Technical College-Cebu identified as Jeslar Uriel Larumbe, 23 years old, was hit dead and left behind by an SUV with blinkers.

Rudy confirmed that he used to peddle blinkers to legitimate users as a source of income.

He also pointed out that the stickers indicating membership to a highway patrol group were not his but of the former owner of the SUV which he refused to name.

However, Police Lt. Col. Roel Villarin, assistant regional chief of Highway Patrol Group 7, expressed doubt on the authenticity of the logo-sticker on the SUV.

Further, Rudy denied any involvement to the crime despite a dent on his car. He said that the dent was from an old accident he got involved in when the car was scraped.

Rudy said he turned over the car to cops as a gesture of cooperation. He said he is ready to be investigated upon should he be implicated in the incident. He called on the perpetrator, as well, to surrender and face the consequences.
