Two people were arrested in what appeared to be a scam involving a purchase of goods in Daet, Camarines Norte.

A local entrepreneur sought the help of the police after paying P12,000 for a box of frozen goods only to learn later that the supplier gave less than what was agreed, and had disappeared.

The Daet Municipal Police Station arrested two men on the day the complaint was filed but a woman was reportedly involved.

Further investigation revealed that the modus operandi was carried out by a group.

"Dito po kasi sa mga ganitong modus hindi lang po ito dalawa o tatlong tao. Base po sa aming pagsisiyasat sa ganitong modus operandi, grupo po ito," PLt. Col. Andy Rosero, Officer-in-Charge of the Daet MPS, said.

The police warned the public against deals that seem too good to be true.

"So kaya po mag-ingat tayo sa mga ganitong mga modus dahil pag nakita po natin na kumbaga too good to be true po, medyo magduda na po tayo sa ganung transaskyon," Rosero said.
