A 17-year-old girl in Vigan City sustained injuries on the face after her father hit her reportedly with a bolo following an argument about her relationship.
The police said a heated argument ensued between the father and daughter when the man arrived home drunk. In the middle of the argument, the father took out a bolo and hit his daughter in the face several times.
"Nagkaroon sila ng personal issues sa family... kinonfront nung father yung kanyang anak regarding doon sa relationship nya," PLTCOL Reynante D. Pitpitan, Chief of Police, Vigan City PNP, said.
The man surrendered to the police but the daughter reportedly will not press charges against him. The other members of the family also reportedly will not do so.
The girl is recuperating in the hospital, as of this writing.
