A woman who was supposed to visit a person deprived of liberty (PDL) at the Mandaue City Jail Male Dormitory was arrested for her alleged attempt to slip suspected shabu and other prohibited items inside the jail facility.

The 27-year-old woman was reportedly on conjugal visit on February 13, 2024 but upon frisking, the policewoman went suspicious.

A piece of material was noticed to have protruded from her genitals.

During the inspection, the material was found to be a condom that was used to wrap around a pack of suspected shabu, dried tobacco leaves, a basic cellular phone, and tin foil.

Jail Superintendent Jonathan Baltar, facility warden, said that the woman was able to present a certificate of co-habitation, but it was found out that the PDL she was about to see already authorized another person for conjugal visit.

“Patuk-ongon man na sila, palingkuron ba sa sulod, didto nakita sa atong female searcher,” Baltar said.

The woman was detained at the police station while an investigation has been conducted on the liability of the PDL identified as the recipient of the prohibited items.

Baltar underscored that the PDL will face sanctions if proven to have violated jail policies such as putting off certain privileges, conduct time allowance, among others.
