At least 13,000 residents in Pangasinan have registered for the 2025 midterm elections just a week after the start of voter registration on February 12, 2024.
Authorities say this is an indication that the public is interested to take part in the democratic exercise.
The province aims to add 50,000 new voters to its 12 million registered voters.
Atty. Michael Sarmiento, Dagupan City Election Officer, said it’s important for those who want to register to bring the necessary documents.
“Importante, may dalang valid ID para ma-accommodate namin kayo sa inyong transaction,” he said.
Comelec accepts the following identification documents:
- PHILSYS National ID Card
- Postal ID Card
- PWD ID Card
- Student’s ID Card or Library Card signed by the school authority
- Senior Citizen’s ID Card
- LTO Driver’s License or Student Permit
- NBI Clearance
- Philippine Passport
- SSS/GSIS ID or UMID Card
- IBP Card
- PRC License
- Certificate of Confirmation from NCIP for members of ICCs or IPs

Offices of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) are open even on Saturdays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Voter registration is suspended on Holy Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Black Saturday.
Registration ends on September 30, 2024. Comelec hopes to register three million new voters by this time.
Meanwhile, Comelec has also launched the Register Anywhere Program (RAP).
“‘Yung register anywhere program, anywhere in the Philippines kahit nasa Tawi-Tawi ka, pwede kang magrehistro roon,” says Atty. Marino Salas, Pangasinan Provincial Election Supervisor.
