A school in Calabanga, Camarines Sur was forced to suspend classes on February 20, 2024 after it received a bomb threat the night before.

Around 10 p.m. on February 19, the school's official Facebook page received a message that said there was a bomb on campus.

Personnel from the Calabanga Municipal Police Station checked the school and found no bomb.

"Nag-conduct po kami ng visual inspection sa area, ‘yung mismong particular na sinasabing part na may bomba and upon inspection po lahat naman nakasarado and nakakandado,” PSSG Arjay Andal, the investigator from Calabanga Municipal Police Station (MPS), said.

Despite this, the school suspended classes on that day as a precautionary measure.

Police have started an investigation into the incident to determine who may have placed the threat.

Authorities warned the public to refrain from making bomb threats or jokes as these create unnecessary panic.

Such actions can result in possible charges, according to PCPT. Angelo Babagay, the Provincial Team Leader of Naga City, Camarines Sur Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit (RACU).

The school administration said they also do not tolerate these types of threats or jokes.
