Baguio City has announced a schedule for the use of Kennon Road to non-residents of the city due to ongoing repairs at Camp 6 in Tuba, Benguet.

The project is carried out by the Department of Public Works and Highways - Cordillera Administrative Region (DPWH-CAR).

The proposal was approved by Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong who serves as chairman of the Metro Baguio-La Trinidad-Itogon-Sablan-Tuba-Tublay Council.

"Paakyat at pababa, may schedule, hindi talaga pwedeng two-way,” PCPT. Angie Dongpaen, the Public Information Officer of the Baguio City Police Office, said.

Those coming from Baguio City may use the road from 12:01 a.m. to midnight on Sundays to 12 midnight on Wednesdays.

Those traveling to Baguio City may use the road from 12:01 a.m. on Thursdays to 12 midnight on Saturdays.

Residents of Kennon Road and those with emergency travel purposes are exempted from the window hour policy.

The Baguio City Police Office sees no problem with tourists heading to Baguio City for the Panagbenga Festival, as the designated days for road use coincide with the festival dates.

Motorists find Kennon Road a preferable route due to the faster travel time compared to using the Marcos Highway.

"Kapag sa Kennon Road kasi mabilis ang biyahe, kapag sa Marcos Highway medyo matagal ang byahe," Neri Viduya, a motorist, said.

Once motorists reach Camp 6, they will be directed to a temporary diversion road along the Bued River.
